My Five: Kevin Windham

My Five is an Alli feature where we ask five fun questions to different athletes and compile all the answers. For this installment, we talked to motocross rider Kevin Windham.

What celebrity do you look like the most?
Joe Dirt without the mullet.

What is your biggest vice?
Cokes, I love em.

If you weren’t a motocross racer, what would you want to do for a living?
I always wanted to be a musician, but the problem is I suck at playing every instrument known to man.

If you have a time machine, where would you go back to and why?
Career speaking, I love the time I grew up in.  I hit the nail on the head, luck of the draw. The sport was at a pre-recession hitting a wave.

What is the hardest thing about being a professional racer?
At this point, time away from the family.  The racing is the best part and it’s what you do the fewest of with practicing week in and week out and other obligations. The fan interaction is really really cool, a huge part of what I do what I do. Especially since 1994 until now. It’s more than just an autograph. It’s a story of a past event and it’s really fun to reminisce on and hear how people responded to events that were happening, which is pretty cool. Those parts are the high parts, and the low parts are down in the ditches day in and day out. It’d be a nice sport if you were just able to show up and be good, but it takes a lot of preparation during the week to get here.
