Jimmy Decotis (illness) will miss Unadilla National

August 9, 2018

Autotrader/Yoshimura Suzuki's Jimmy Decotis will sit out this week's race at Unadilla after spending the past week dealing with an illness.

"I’ve been really sick this week and with my weakened immune system from my Lyme disease I will just dig myself a deeper hole," he wrote on Instagram.

Decotis was diagnosed with Lyme disease during the 2017 season. He opened up about it in interviews with several media outlets, including TransWorld Motocross and Racer X Online, last year.

This past March, Decotis sustained fractured ribs and vertebrae in a crash. Since returning from injury at Round 5 of this year's Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, he has a best finish of just 12th place and has finished outside of a points-paying position (the top 20) in half of the 10 motos he's raced thus far.

Decotis hopes to line up next weekend at Budds Creek.
