The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is in the Pacific Northwest for Round 9 of the season at Washougal. First motos begin at 4pm ET (here's info on how to watch), but the day got started with qualifying sessions in both classes.

Adam Cianciarulo put down the fastest time in the 250 Class, getting it done on the final lap of the second session. His 2:12.505 on the last lap took the top spot away from last week's overall winner Joey Savatgy, who was more than a half second behind Cianciarulo with a 2:13.124.

It's been a recurring trend, as AC now has been the top qualifier at three consecutive rounds. He's still in search of his first victory though.

Fresh off a third-place moto finish at Spring Creek, Shane McElrath is keeping the momentum going. He qualified third with a 2:13.499. He and Troy Lee/Red Bull KTM teammate Sean Cantrell also have fresh gear and bike graphics this week that feature a lot of powder blue.

Unfortunately for the Troy Lee/Red Bull KTM team, they are down to just two riders, as they announced earlier this week that Alex Martin will miss this race with a collarbone injury.

Also on the sidelines is Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Austin Forkner, who remains out as he recovers from a concussion.

The 450 Class practice was dominated by Eli Tomac in the second session. His lap time of 2:10.563 was nearly a second and a half faster than the next fastest time, Marvin Musquin's 2:11.917. Musquin had previously been a tick quicker than Tomac in the day's first session earlier in the morning, but lap times overall were slower in that session.

Behind Tomac and Musquin was a pair of interesting names: Martin Davalos and Fredrik Noren. Davalos and Noren are two of just five riders who have scored at least one point in every single 450 Class moto so far this season, and Davalos has been turning in top-five rides in recent weeks.

One new rider in the field this week is Tyler Bowers, who has raced a total of just four Lucas Oil Pro Motocross rounds (all of them taking place last year) since 2009. Aboard the #52 Kawasaki, the former Arenacross specialist qualified 13th.

There was also some concerning news to come out of 450 qualifying. The second practice session had to be red flagged for about 10 minutes due to a hard crash by Justin Barcia. According to NBC Sports' Georgia Lindsay, Barcia was "awake and alert" as the medical crew prepared to transport him on a backboard into an ambulance to get checked out, though no details on the specifics of his injury were immediately available.

In addition to Barcia, the 450 Class will also be without Jason Anderson and Cooper Webb today, as both recover from injuries of their own.
