Phil Nicoletti is moving from one fill-in ride to another.

After racing with Autotrader/Yoshimura Suzuki at the first three rounds of the season, Nicoletti will finish out the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross campaign with Rockstar Energy Husvarna Factory Racing. The move comes with Husqvarna missing both of its 450 Class riders—Dean Wilson (out for season) and Jason Anderson (likely out until August)—and in need of a replacement. The team also lost its top 250 Class rider, Zach Osborne, for the season this week.

As for the JGR Suzuki team, Nicoletti had been on a fill-in deal for them while waiting for Justin Bogle (broken humerus, L2 vertebrae) to return from injury. Although no announcement has been made on when Bogle will be race again, this move gives Nicoletti the security of having a ride for the rest of the summer.

Currently Nicoletti sits seventh in 450MX points. He's finished in the top 10 of all six motos that have been run so far this season—a feat that only five other 450 Class riders have matched.

"I am happy to have the opportunity to finish out the Pro Motocross season with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team," Nicoletti said in a team statement. "I look forward to getting on the bike and showing everyone what I have."
